The project

A game-ready, hand-painted character with lighting and form baked into the albedo. Built around strong silhouettes and a painterly look, with the final asset optimized for Unreal Engine 5.

Working from Hicham Habchi's Ruined King concept, I built the character with a real-time game pipeline in mind. Because the lighting and form are baked into the albedo, the character needs to read correctly from the texture alone without relying on dynamic lighting.

The character came in at 17,000 triangles, with the shield at 18,000, using a hand-painted 4K albedo workflow.
